Masks have been used for thousands of years in rituals for protection. Often specific materials are used that are believed to bring protection to the communities using them. Armour is a photographic series that looks to examine the effects anti-ageing campaigns have on women in the Western world. Combining a multitude of materials believed to prevent or disguise ageing (masks, creams, hair dye), the wearer of the mask becomes protected. Taken in a private setting, the photographs show the inner struggle women can have with ageing.
